Audit of telecommunications costs

Cost audit - a highly profitable effort!

The complex system of infrastructure, connectivity, mobile or wired, is the basic requirement of most ICT services.

The billing models are in no way inferior to the technical complexity and often involve simultaneously changing fixed costs, variable costs, time- or volume-based tariffs as well as flat rates. Last but not least, the contractual agreements complete the scope of services with SLAs, discounts, kick-backs, contract duration and termination information.

Intransparent cost Driver

The costs – very often the largest ICT single item – often represent 20% of the total ICT expenditure. The lack of transparency of the billing and performance models, together with the ongoing changes, do not seem to miss their effect. The necessity of the "controlling" on the part of the service recipient we see is greatly neglected. Somewhat frustrated and with some increasing “blurring” customers pay for their telecommunications services.

Controlling is strongly recommended

However, the good news is, our experience clearly shows that this controlling pays off. Our expenses were mostly compensated multiple respectively immediately by retrospective repayments. The corrected running rates allowed our customers to establish a regular cost controlling by INS which paid itself. As another fact, the markedly improved price/performance transparency had a beneficial effect on a more pleasant cooperation.
